Nebraska Water Center Website

Visit Website

One of the key projects that I have worked on for the Nebraska Water Center was the complete redesign of the organization’s website. Initially, there was a significant amount of content on the website, and the homepage had so much information on it that it was difficult to find specifically what you were looking for.

Several pages were out-of-date and were no longer utilized by the organization. One of the first steps to redesigning the website was to identify what pages were necessary and which ones were not. The unnecessary pages were removed and the essential pages were updated and prepared for migration.

On the technical side, the website was originally running on Classic ASP. The pages needed to be modified in Adobe Dreamweaver. The organization decided to move all the pages over to a more modern system maintained by the University. It was based on Drupal and included a default framework that simplified the process to create pages, which were well-designed, responsive and mobile-friendly.

The first goal was to create a new homepage that was visually appealing and user friendly. Once the homepage was finished, the remaining pages were migrated over into Drupal and updated with a new template. Navigation was also improved to help make it easier to find information.
